MAKÜ Folk Dance Team performed at the inter-university festival

Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University (MAKÜ) Turkish Music State Conservatory Turkish Folk Dances Department and Folk Dances and Modern Dance Community students participated in the "Inter-University Folk Dances Festival" held within the scope of the Pamukkale University Folk Dances Festival "From Roots to Stage Anatolia" program organized by Pamukkale University Folk Dances Community and performed successfully.

 

The festival held at Hasan Kasapoğlu Cultural Center located in Denizli Pamukkale University campus brought together folk dance teams from different universities on the same stage. In the event where Anatolia's rich cultural heritage was brought to the stage, the MAKÜ team received great appreciation from the audience.

 

The team, performing under the direction of Dr. Lecturer Nurgül Mıhladız, successfully executed regional dances with a wide repertoire extending from the roots to Anatolia of the Teke region. The Folk Dances and Modern Dance Community added color to the stage with their Roman dance performance and received great applause from the audience.

 

Pamukkale University Rector Prof. Dr. Mahmud Güngör, MAKÜ Turkish Music State Conservatory Director Prof. Dr. Zeynel Turan, as well as academic staff, students, and many citizens attended the event.

 

In the festival; different universities such as Pamukkale University, Aydın Adnan Menderes University, Bursa Uludağ University, Manisa Celal Bayar University, İzmir University of Economics, and Uşak University also participated, contributing to cultural interaction.

 

The festival, which was the scene of colorful images, contributed to the strengthening of cultural ties between universities and also created an important platform for the preservation and transmission of folk dances to future generations.
